Before you can become a blogger and start creating exciting and compelling content thousands of people a month will want to read, you must first choose who will host your blog.
For me, blogging began with Bluehost and that’s where it will stay. I’ll tell you more of why on that further down the page.
But first, you’re going to learn the baby steps to starting a WordPress blog with Bluehost.
Blogging Begins with Bluehost
Bluehost is one of the top hosting companies in 2018 and I’m not surprised! Their prices are extremely reasonable, staring at just $3.95 per month.
Their 24/7 support is phenomenal! I can’t tell you how many times I have hit that chat button for the silliest of things (because I had no clue what I was doing in the beginning) and they would happily answer in seconds and work to resolve any little issue I was having!
Why not choose a cheaper or free hosting option?
The reason I strongly recommend you pay for hosting with Bluehost is to have the option and ability to monetize your blog how you want to.
You can run your own advertisements, facilitate your own affiliate marketing tactics and any other business strategies you would like by paying for inexpensive hosting through Bluehost.
How to start a Blog with Bluehost
Let’s start looking at the baby steps you need to take in order to set up your WordPress blog with Bluehost.
Baby Step #1
Get Started Now
Head on over to Bluehost via this link and click on the big green “get started now>” button.
Baby Step #2
Choose A Plan
So great, this is happening! You’ve clicked the button and are on your way to making a decision that could potentially change your life for the better!
Let’s keep going!
What’s the next step for starting a WordPress blog with Bluehost?
Choose your plan!
As you can see, the basic plan is only $3.95 per month! That is incredibly reasonable for the powerful server you are getting and 24/7 support.
Once you start monestizing your blog with tips from “Monetizing A Blog: Baby Steps to Making Cents”, you will easily make that investment back and then some.
Baby Step #3
Your Domain Name
Are you getting excited?
I remember how I felt on top of the world when I launched my first blog, loveourlittles.com with Bluehost and WordPress just a few short moths ago.
It was beyond exhilarating! I bet you’re already planning your first blog post too.
I’ll tell you what, if you start a blog after reading this post, send me an email or write a comment below and I will be your first email subscriber (me and your mom), just kidding! But really, I want to support you and your ventures just like you are doing for me by sticking around to read this post.
This third step, choosing your domain name is of course a big decision!
If you’re toiling over some ideas, but you’re not sure which domain name to go with, see my “Start A Blog with 5 Baby Steps” to help walk you through how to choose the right domain name.
Baby Step #4
Insert Account Information
Next, insert your account information. This is pretty straight forward, not much for me to elaborate on here.
Baby Step #5
Choose A Password
Once you choose and create our custom password, you can log in to your Bluehost account and move onto the next step.
The creative process has begun!
Baby Step #6
Pick A Theme
Here is where the real blogging fun begins and also where your ideas will begin to turn into a visual reality!
Some tips on choosing a theme:
- You can start with a free theme and always change it later.
The one I am using is the Brunch Pro Theme by Feast Design with the Genesis Framework.
- Look for a theme that has the customizable options you want. Such as menu placements, font options, widget areas and overall look and feel.
>>Head over to StudioPress and demo some themes!<<

Baby Step #7
Welcome to WordPress
Congratulations!
You are now fully hosted with Bluehost and have a WordPress blog.
This screen will prompt you to select either a personal or business style site.
The main difference between the two is what plugins they will come equipped with.
For example, the business site will provide you with a woocommerce plugin to help you sell from your site.
Again, if you’re not sure about any of these things right now, you can always go back and change it later.

Baby Step #8
Launch Your Site
See that big, beautiful blue “launch” button?
That button will be the revealer of your new and fabulous blog!
P.S. Don’t wait until things are perfect before you launch your blog. Because your blog most likely never be perfect and it will always be a work in progress!
And don’t compare your blog to others either!
It takes years sometimes to put together a flawlessly looking and operating blog. The important thing is that you are working towards a goal and enjoying the process as you go.
Blogging Began with Bluehost
How does it feel now that you are officially a blogger with your own blog hosted with Bluehost?
You should feel very accomplished and also secure in knowing you chose a great hosting company that will not let you down!
Still feeling hesitant about starting your blog with Bluehost?
Don’t feel pressured!
This is not a sales pitch, but a passionate proclamation about a service I think is top notch and use myself.
I was very lucky to find the right information when I started my blog. There is a lot of bad advice floating around in the blogging world.
I often see new bloggers get on the wrong track at the begging of their blogging venture and it creates a disaster for them to clean up later down the road. Unfortunately, this can lead to being forced to quit on your blog you worked so hard on.
So please, take this advice as genuine concern for you as a new blogger.
Start your blog with Bluehost and you cannot go wrong!
